Keep up to date with the latest news edition issued by the Personal Injury Commission

This issue begins with the announcement of the Hon. Adam Searle’s appointment as Deputy President of the Commission. Adam brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Commission, and we look forward to the contributions he will make in this important role. You will find further details below, along with other key Commission appointments.

As noted in our last edition, medical dispute filing numbers remain high, reflecting both the complexity of matters before us and the growing reliance on our medical assessment processes. The Commission continues to work diligently to stay ahead of this surge, and I urge legal practitioners to support these efforts by ensuring injured claimants and workers attend their scheduled appointments.

To assist parties and practitioners, we’ve released new medical assessment fact sheets designed to clarify procedures and expectations. These are now available on our website. In addition, we’ve updated our complaints policy to provide a clearer process for making and managing complaints. I encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with these new resources.

On the Pathway front, we continue to strengthen our cyber security posture through measures such as streamlining user access and building on existing safeguards like unique login credentials and geo-blocking.

Finally, please take note of the Commission’s end-of-year shutdown details below and plan accordingly.

Regards,

Judge Gerard Phillips
President
